Serving Reno

Loving Our Neighbors in Christ's Name

At St. John's Presbyterian Church, we believe that worship does not end when the service concludes on Sunday morning.

As followers of Jesus Christ, we are called to love our neighbors, seek the welfare of our community, and serve those in need.

Through hands-on service, financial support, community partnerships, and hospitality, we seek to make God's love visible in Reno and beyond.

Whether you are looking for a place to volunteer, a ministry to support, or simply a way to make a difference, we invite you to join us.

Caring for Our Neighbors

Cares Campus Meals

Every month, members of St. John's serve meals for residents of Reno's Cares Campus.

This ministry offers more than food. It is an opportunity to extend Christ's welcome to some of our community's most vulnerable neighbors.

Volunteers help with serving, setup, cleanup, and hospitality.

Meal Delivery and Practical Support

Many members of our congregation provide meals and practical assistance to individuals and families facing illness, recovery, grief, or other life challenges.

Whether bringing a meal, offering transportation, or helping during difficult seasons, we seek to care for one another and our broader community with compassion and dignity.

Supporting Important Work in Reno and Beyond

Special Collections and Mission Giving

Throughout the year, St. John's organizes special collections to support organizations serving people in need both locally and around the world.

These collections may include food, clothing, school supplies, hygiene items, seasonal gifts, and other needed resources.

In addition to these collections, the congregation provides financial support to a variety of nonprofit organizations, mission partners, and ministries whose work reflects our commitment to compassion, justice, education, and human dignity.

Our mission giving extends both across northern Nevada and beyond, supporting ministries that strengthen communities and transform lives.

Partnering with Eddy House

We are excited to be building a new relationship with Eddy House, an organization dedicated to supporting homeless, runaway, and at-risk youth in northern Nevada.

Through volunteer service, special projects, collections, and financial support, we hope to partner with Eddy House as they provide safety, resources, and pathways toward stability for young people facing significant challenges.

We look forward to growing this partnership in the years ahead.

Sharing Our Campus with the Community

A Place for Gathering, Healing, and Support

We believe that church buildings are gifts meant to be shared.

Throughout the week, St. John's welcomes a variety of community organizations, support groups, recovery groups, volunteer organizations, and faith communities onto our campus.

Some groups gather for mutual support. Others meet for education, service, fellowship, or worship. Together they contribute to the health and vitality of our community.

By opening our doors, we seek to provide a safe and welcoming place where people can connect, learn, heal, and grow.
