Elders are called to be spiritual leaders, strengthening and nurturing the faith and life of the congregation committed to their charge. In the Constitution of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) elders are instructed to engage members in the mission of the church and to provide opportunities for evangelism, pastoral care, worship, education and stewardship (Book of Order, G-10.0100).

I am the Telecommunications Manager for the Sierra Army Depot in Herlong, CA for the past3 years. I am a retired U.S. Army Warrant Officer, having served 20 years on active duty, the last seven years as a Presidential Communications Officer at the White House. My wife Karen and I have been attending St. John's for two years; previously we were members of Safe Harbor Presbyterian Church on Kent Island, Maryland where I served as a Deacon. We enjoy the hospitality of St. John's and I serve all of the Boy Scout units there.
