St. John's Children's Center is open Monday through Friday, year round, from 7:00 am until 6:00 pm. The morning Preschool and Kindergarten programs end at 1:00 pm. The Children's Center office is open Monday through Friday, year round, from 8:00 am until 5:30 pm. For assistance before or after office hours, parents should speak with staff in the classroom.
St. John's Children's Center is closed for the following major holidays:

Note: If a holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the school will close on a week day before or after the holiday.
Other Closures
The Children's Center is also closed the last Thursday and Friday of the School Year Program in June, as well as the last Thursday and Friday of the Summer Program in August. These are used as transition days for the Center. The staff meets to do planning, in-service training, and clean and prepare the classrooms and school for the new season. These transition days are included in the monthly tuition for June and August.
S. John's Children's Center follows Washoe County School District's policy for closure and delayed start due to adverse weather conditions. When the School District closes school due to adverse weather, St. John's Children's Center is also closed. When there is a "delayed start" in the Washoe County School District, St. John's also opens one hour later than usual, 8:00 am instead of 7:00 am. Children may begin arriving any time after 8:00 am and all other programs operate on their regular schedule. Listen to the radio for announcements of school closures and delayed start. St. John's announces its closure or delayed start on radio station 103.7 FM (the oldies station). There may be times when weather conditions worsen during the day. Should this occur, parents will be notified to pick up their children. No credit will be given for time missed due to snow closure. If there is an extended closure due to weather, the Board may consider credit or make up days.
